3,000 Miles • 4 Guys • 1 Row Boat • 1 Important Cause
Whilst we all hopefully sit down and enjoy Christmas and New Year with our family and friends, there are 4 men rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in a tiny boat right now, completely self-supported, for a very important cause.
They will be battling 20ft waves, sea sickness, sleep deprivation, blistered hands, sore bums, extreme heat, hallucinations and more, all to raise money for CALM.
CALM stands for ‘Campaign Against Living Miserably’ - an organisation set up to help people struggling with their mental health and take a stand against suicide. Their lifesaving helpline answers a call every 66 seconds, and has directly prevented around 600 suicides per year, as well as raising awareness and getting people talking about mental health, something a lot of us take for granted.
Their Mission
Their mission is to raise awareness of this increasing problem and help CALM in their life-saving work. Our epic – and frankly, daunting – Atlantic rowing challenge was the best way we knew to do it.
Our Reason...
One of our staff members, Jessica, is the partner of Jack, one of the 4 members in the strokes4blokes team currently rowing the Atlantic. Jack Fleckney is rowing along with 3 other brave men and we are supporting him, his team, and their fundraising efforts for CALM.
Please take a minute to check out their website for more information on the team and their challenge, and social media for updates on their progress.
