This is the Full Hood cover version for this roller door where the complete enclosure of the curtain ensures the very best weather protection at all times.
The ‘half hood’ version of this roller door has a folded aluminium hood cover which forms a front facia when fitting behind or inbetween any opening to give a neat finish and better sealing when closed.The hood cover is fitted to the endplates on either side of the roller barrel which the curtain rolls around.

The GDO ROLL 55 is constructed from high quality 55mm deep double skinned aluminium slats with a foam filled core. It is a made to measure, 240V, tube motor operated, electric roller garage door, manufactured to the exact millimetre in width and height.

The door is electrically remote operated as standard and incorporates an internal emergency manual release in case of a power failure. This is a winding process using a winding handle provided attaching via a hook to the eye of the motor drive. This can be specified as either on the left or right as viewed from inside the garage.

The door is supplied with 2 remote handsets and an internal wall mounted control panel with inbuilt receiver for the remote controls.  The Genesis wall mounted control system dimensions are 140mm h x 120mm w x 50mm d.

The bottom slat is extruded and supplied fitted with a rubber seal system incorporating an infra red beam internally. Any obstacle is detected when the door is operating and the door will instantly stop to prevent damage or injury.

The curtain of this door rolls around a steel barrel which is supported either side by steel endplates which have a dimension of 205mm x 205mm, which is the headroom required if you wish to hide the roll. Always allow for a maximum 50mm of curtain ‘hang down’ when the door is opened if the opening height is critical to you. This is the same on all roller garage doors.

The guide height as used for ordering does not included the endplate size above it and the loss of drive through height with the bottom slat hang down when open.

Door guides either side are 60mm wide and 34mm deep and the door is ordered using the ‘OVERGUIDE’ width from the curtain and guides combined.  These newly updated guides feature brush seals making the door quieter and improve the seal against the weather.

The door can be fitted BEHIND or INBETWEEN the structural opening as required but always check you have order the correct dimensions to take into account the guides and endplates (full hood cover if ordered is the same dimensions).

(for maximum width and height). This gives it the freedom to be fitted in the most complex locations regardless of the shape of the garage opening. Single and double garage door sizes are catered for meaning almost all requirements can be met. This makes it highly practical for owners of 4x4 vehicles or similar cars of a large nature who otherwise find problems driving into their garage. This installation style can be used to install the door externally, however, this will cause the motor handing and curtain to be reversed.

PLEASE NOTE:  In April 2024 the guides for all GDO Roll 55 doors changed from a previously supplied 66mm guide to 60mm guides. This will affect the ordering size of your door, please contact us if we can help with any clarification on previously quoted doors. 

Ordering sizes are the Over Guide Width (OGW) x Guide Height (GH).
