Hormann timber garage doors are exquisitely crafted for a lasting appeal.

Whatever the style of your property, traditional or modern architecture, the Hormann styles of timber doors in either panelled or tongued and grooved design offer you the selection to find a style that will add warmth and character to your home.

The main material used for these timber up and over doors is carefully chosen Western Red cedarwood, with its finely figured grain and contrast in colour. Cedarwood is ideal as a timber species due to its light colour and weight. Combined with the Hormann steel chassis the perfect timber garage door is created. The light colour of cedarwood means it can be treated with a Sikkens or Sadolins microporous wood treatment to give almost any shade of finish. The light weight of the cedar means a garage door which does not create problems with operational balance even in the double width sizes.

Timber Door Finishes

There are also a selection of factory applied fully finished door colour options. We all know that wood needs protection against the elements, especially in the UK. That is why in addition to the standard factory base coat it is important to apply a pigmented wood preservative to a timber garage door, inside and out, in order to protect it against weathering, atmospheric influences and the effects of UV rays. You can thus blend in the garage door with the timber elements of your property. We currently offer nine colour options as fully finished factory coatings.

Handles

The Hormann Timber Up and Over Doors are fitted as standard with a black handle set, with the option of no handle / hole drilled if the door is to be automated.

Door Designs

All the Hormann timber garage doors can be manual or remote control electrically operated at any of the standard sizes offered. 

We can also offer a full range of German produced timber garage doors in Nordic Pine or Hemlock timber at any size up to 5000mm wide. These doors are also beautifully created in a steel sub frame chassis for ultimate stability and strength with a factory fitted steel box section fixing frame.
